CSA Frequently Asked Questions

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. This program gives members (you) direct access to high-quality, fresh seasonal produce grown by your local farmers (us).

Before the growing season begins, we invite our community to purchase a share of our harvest upfront. Once our growing season begins, those who have bought in begin receiving a share of our harvest, in the form of a box of produce.

CSA programs are mutually beneficial to the farmers + their community. By purchasing a share + investing in our farm’s success, you help us to gain the financial security and capital needed for soil amendments, infrastructure, seeds + more! In return, you gain regular + convenient access to local, high-quality produce, from people in your community who care about you, your family + our environment.

When does the CSA usually start?

Our summer shares typically start in late June + ends in early October.

How does the CSA Program work?

When you sign up for our Summer CSA Program, you’ll select how often + quanitity you’d like to receive fresh veggies:

Frequency

  • Full Share: One box every week for the duration of our CSA program

  • Half Share: 8 boxes; your choice of weeks, from within our full week CSA program

Size

  • Large Share: The share will contain 10-12 items with an aproximate value of $35

  • Small Share: The share will contain between 6-8 items with an aproximate value of $25

The full shares + half shares get the same veggies - it’s just how often you get them. We expect our summer CSA programs to run from approximately the last week of June, to the first week in October.

What can I expect in my weekly share?

In each week’s share we include what is in peak season + ready to harvest. We try to give our members a nice variety of snacking, salad + meal veggies, as well as herbs! Click here to view sample weekly shares.

Summer CSA Full Share (16 weeks)

The Full Share is a weekly share of fresh vegetables (about a paper grocery bag full). This share is easily consumed by a household that eats and cooks fresh vegetables, although each family’s vegetable consumption varies.

Summer CSA Half Share (8 weeks)

The Half Share is also a share of fresh vegetables (about a paper grocery bag full), for 8 weeks of your choosing. This option is for the single person, or vegetable-lite household. Half shares get the same vegetables as the full shares.
